Uh oh it's magic...
Magic Hat that is! Come down to Church St on 9/9/09 for the Magic Hat 9tacular featuring... wait for it... YOU! That's right. SSB will be hosting live karaoke right on Church St in the middle of a big celebration in honor of Magic Hat #9 (one of my personal favorites)!! That means it's your big chance to sing with SSB to a mammoth crowd of party animals. Wow, that sounds like fun. You can bet I'll be there. It would be a really bad idea to miss this one.
Water, water everywhere...
This year we were rained on at Breakwaters for the very first time in history. And then we were rained on again for the very 2nd time in history. Some of you brave souls partied in the rain, so we kept on playing and we all managed to have a pretty good time. Duh.
There are still 2 more chances. Come on out on Sat 8/15 and Wed 8/26 and help us even the score with mum nature. The sun will shine. The drinks will flow. There will be music and merriment and dancing and debauchery. Fun for the whole family and more. We'll see you there. Don't even bring an umbrella.

Are you guys still playing, or what?...
Yup. Last year was a little hectic for us Bobs, so we decided to thin the schedule a little. Well, the schedule lost so much weight that it's pants started falling down. I think we've caught it just in time, and as the summer starts to book up, our good 'ol schedule is looking healthy again.
I don't think the water actually breaks...
Breakwaters is the absolute best place to party with the Bobs. And we just added a handful of dates for the 2009 summer season!! Yay. Do I really have to say it? Um, ok.... Come on down and party with us! There.
Magical mystery tour...
Our first question is "Have you seen the band? Do you know what you're asking for?". We find it mystifying and magical, but SSB has become a popular band for weddings and parties. It seems every year we get more private shows. We do enjoy the events, and it is flattering to be chosen for some very special occasions. On the other hand, it means we play less public shows. Well, I tell you what... Get out there and tell your favorite clubs that you would like to see Sideshow Bob there more often, and maybe we'll fill get to see you more often. Or... book us for *your* special event. I did.

One for the history books...
So look for "A History Of Sideshow Bob - No, The Band Not The Cartoon Character". But seriously, this has truly been an exceptional year. As in, it was a great year with the exception of getting rained out at Breakwaters. But even more seriously, we owe a hearty, "you guyz ROCK" to everybody who came out and partied with us in 2008. That's all we owe you (except for a "thank you", but you'll find we took care of that on the main page). Don't expect us to get you a gift or anything.
But seriously awesome...
The Higher Ground show was one of the best nights that we have ever shared. The crowd was awesome (that's you - give yourself a hand), the club was awesome, Mr. French and Quadra were awesome... Fun, fun, fun, and more fun. Let's do it again!
Back to the future...
Well, we'll see you next year. Have really spectacular holiday fun. And thanks again.
Oops. Now I've over thanked you. Now you owe us a gift...

A Tribute to WIZN's Birthday... Or maybe just an excuse to take over the Higher Ground Ballroom. Either way... big fun! We're joining up with our friends Quadra and Mr. French once again to play at HG for WIZN's 25th Bday party. This time is a little different - we're each doing 2 sets, and each set features the music of a classic band. The Higher Gound web site has all the info - here - and check out the great picture of the remaining Bobs taken 15 year in the future. Who's missing, and why, and how'd they do that? I don't know, it hasn't happened yet. As falls Enosburg, so falls Enosburg Falls... Summer was so short this year that it should have just been called "umm". The Bobs still managed to squeeze in a good bit of fun, but a lot of it was at private parties. That leaves out too many of you, so next year we either have a longer umm or everyone will have to throw a party... or both. All of that has nothing to do with Enosburg. Enosburg? I don't know. Trust in Bob...
Ok folks. I know how it is. You think to yourself, "Self, I should head down to Breakwaters to see my friends Sideshow Bob, have a few drinks, eat some good food and catch a beautiful sunset." Oh yeah. That's living. So you look out the window and... oh boy, it really looks like rain.
Come on down. IT WON'T RAIN. We have never been rained out and we never will. The party will be there waiting for you. Come on down.
July 2008 Summer, summer, summer...
Breakwaters suddenly realized that they need SSB to bring the sun out. We'll be there every other (or so) Tuesday evening for the new Magic Hat night. Sweet! Breakwaters, sunshine, Magic Hat and Sideshow Bob. It's a clear winner.
You may have noticed that we're playing a lot of private events this summer... The annual Bunning Bash was a huge success, and we are helping to get several couples married. We're not the typical wedding band, so we only play weddings for the coolest couples. We hope that you are invited to all of the parties, but if not then how about having your own party?! What a great idea. Just hit the "Contact Us" button and let us know when and where.
Well I guess we've been busy Bobs... Either that or we've been really lazy Bobs, and we (um... I) haven't been keeping up with all the news that's fit to print. I do hope nobody is upset with me. I haven't gotten any angry messages, so that's a good sign.
The summer season is taking shape...
There are a (very) few Breakwaters dates starting to appear on the calendar, so plan ahead. We'll have to pack more fun into each night.
Make plans now... New Years Eve. Party hats. Noisemakers. It'll be at the Eagles Club. Everyone is welcome, and it feels like a giant private party just for SSB and friends. Oh yeah. It's that good. I know, I know... This web site has been quite stale. On the other hand, the Bobs have been very busy. 2007 continues to be a big year for us. Johnny D did a fantastic job filling in on drums for most of September. We had successful nights at the Lincoln Inn and at the Pour House, and we're going back to both places. Then there was the mullet wig pre-halloween madness at Franny O's. Next up... HIGHER GROUND! Saturday, November 17th. Don't miss it. Since we're the new guys (well, sort of), we go on first, so DON'T BE LATE! We'll get to hang out and party with you all for the rest of the night. Psyched! The calendar is filling up well into '08 already. Keep your holiday cool by blowing off some steam with us. More aerodynamic... And hopefully just plain dynamic! If you can name the Bobs who have been on diets... you're paying way too much attention. Have another drink and shake your groove thing, shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah. August 2007 Back to s'cool... Actually, we're starting the s'cool year with a couple of new (to us) clubs. The 1st of September we'll be giving the Lincoln Inn the SSB test with Johnny D on the V-Drum kit. Very psyched to be on the cool, curvy stage at the 5 corners. The following week we're giving the pour house a go. I hear they put the pool table outside to make room for the band... I wonder if they let you play pool in the parking lot. We hope to make lots of new friends, and introduce some of our old friends to some great new watering holes. No, I didn't call you old. Not so vicious... We are confirmed for a HUGE night of fun at Higher Ground this November! We'll be sharing the big stage with our good friends Quadra and Sister French (formerly Mister French, but the operation was a success). It's a big room, so we'll need you and all of your friends to help fill the place up with SSB fans. We'll all have a crazy good time - maybe even more than usual. Summer, summer, summer... Nearing the end. I hope you've been out to see us instead of lurking here on the web site. There's been lots of good SSB fun, but not much news. It's been another great summer at Breakwaters, and we're ready for one more great night of 'waters fun on 8/31 (but you knew that already). We have had the amazing good fortune to play at a bunch of great private parties this summer - you know who you are!! - and there are even more to come. April 2007 Vicious... There's a rumor going around that we'll be playing at Higher Ground this fall. You didn't hear it from me. Always changing... The summer continues to book up and it's going to be a fun one (if it ever actually gets here - seriously, isn't it the middle of April - but I digress). Do keep an eye on the calendar, because some dates have shifted and changed like cheap sci-fi special effects. April 2007 A Three Hour Tour... Get your tickets quick for the annual Sideshow Bob/Northern Lights Lake Champlain dinner cruise. We're setting sail for the high seas (uh... lakes?) on July 19th. This one sells out quickly and it's too good to miss. Great food and drink, cruising out on the lake at sunset, and the Bobs playing on the top deck. Oh yeah, it's good. Keep an eye on the calendar... That's right, the Bobs are busier than ever and that's good news for anyone who likes to get out and have some fun. To minimize confusion, I don't post any dates until they have been confirmed, but I can tell you that there are quite a few great shows in the works. List of songs now posted to the web site... I guess it's as close to an "official" song list as you're ever going to get, so check it out and let us know what you think. Oh yeah, it's in the "About Us" section, which will someday also include a little bit about us - hence the name of the section. Slideshow Bob @ Franny O's... Steve had to go to Chicago on business (let's all say it together... poor Steve!) so we had to cancel our last Franny O's gig. Luckily they managed to book Slideshow Bob to take our place. None of us got out to see them, so we would love to hear from someone who did. They must have been pretty good with a name like Slideshow Bob!! Catch us at the Eagles Club in downtown Burlington... This place ROCKS! We played there right before xmas, and again in January, and it's been classic SSB party nights. The room is comfortable, the people are friendly, and the drinks are the best we've had since the Edgewater. Oh yeah, and it's an early night - 8 to midnight. It's on the corner of St Paul and Maple, and they have a parking lot (but get there early to get your space). The Sideshow Bob Summer schedule is starting to come together... We'll be announcing a bunch of Breakwater and Eagles Club dates and more fun stuff in the next few weeks. | |
